THE AUTHOR
J.B. – FEEN Magazine C.L. Thompson – The Author
J.B.: When did you first, without hesitation, call yourself a writer?
C.L. Thompson: Well, I use to write songs for recording labels, but when this certain music executive; I won’t mention any names, told me to stop writing songs so deep and detail. He said people are too stupid to get it and I should keep it simple if I wanted to keep a job in this business. I knew at that point… I was a writer.
J.B.: How do you work with an editor without the pride thing getting in the way?
C.L. Thompson: Working with an editor for me is the easy part of it all. It’s a humbling experience for me.
J.B.: When you hear from your readers, what do they say?
C.L. Thompson: My readers usually ask when the next book is coming out. Most say every time they read my books they get a different out-look and catch something that they missed. They keep it positive for the most part.

But big publishers don’t have time or don’t want to listen.
J.B.: Do you think self-publishing has opened or closed doors for creative people?
C.L. Thompson: That’s a good question. For me it opened a lot of doors, but I’m not your traditional author either. If you are that habitual, not thinking-out-of-the-box, following the already paved road author, your door is now closed.
J.B.: What genre does your book fall under?
C.L. Thompson: Historical fiction

J.B.: What one word best describes you?
C.L. Thompson: Rational…
